  • Excellent food. Perfect for pilgrims ( well worth the visit ). We ate some suckling pig in Sernadelo, at a renowned restaurant , but there is absolutely no way you can compare the food at this location to that. After this incredible meal, we ordered a magnificent dessert. This place tells a story about labeling. A family owned restaurant with very few customers, which many people walk pass thinking it’s another lousy diner. This experience was truly moving and worthy of a Michelin star!!

  • Amazingly delicious food, grumpy looking but very friendly! Value for price is on another level. sadly almost no customers. Only downside is parking and no card. And the next atm is 1km away.

  • Pilgrims: If you're in Albergaria a Velha, you absolutely must find Há Leitão. This restaurant is a true treasure, deserving far more visitors. From the moment you step in, you'll know you're in for an authentic Portuguese experience. The food is simply amazing – and I live in Portugal. This place is a step above most portuguese restaurants. And come hungry, because the portions are truly huge. The photos show was I was served just for one person, not including the dessert that I devoured. I paid €14.50 for everything in the photos. A highlight of my visit was being served by an amazing Portuguese woman. She was incredibly sweet, and while I'm not sure if she spoke English, don’t let a potential language barrier stop you. Google translate is your friend :) Há Leitão is the kind of place you stumble upon and instantly wish more people knew about. It’s a genuine hidden gem offering delicious, hearty meals and a truly authentic vibe.

  • We were walking on that side and we decided to stop there or across the street. We entered here and it was the best choice. Food was plenty and great! The leitáo was delicious! The owner was such a nice man to us. He gave us some extra shots as courtesy.

  • Listen up everyone. If you are coming from Porto to Lisbon or vice versa, do yourself a favor and stop here. This place is the most amazing hidden gem. €13 euro each for a 4 course (delicious) meal, including some port wine! Some of the best food we’ve had in Portugal. Cash only. We parked at the church down the block and it was fine.

  • Well there is no atmosphere but the food were amazing. Wholesome food. Honest homecook food. It started with bread and olives. The main meal lost in translation came with soup, salad, fries and rice. End with a caramel pudding and a shot of port. The meal also includes a beer or wine or water. The main meals were large serving. Pork chops and grill chicken came with fried egg 12 euro. Suckling pig were amazing that was 13 euro. Then we were offered coffee but declined. Split bill not an issue. Just the cost of your main meal. Unless you have extra beer and wine. Two of us had white wine and got a whole caraffe or a huge jug. Wonderful service.
